Providence Hill Farm Sporting Club Hosts 2017 NSCA South Central Regional Sporting Clay Championship

Over 500 competitors are expected from around the world

JACKSON, Miss. (September 5, 2017) – Providence Hill Farm Sporting Club will host the NSCA South Central Regional Sporting Clay Championship beginning Wednesday, September 6, through Sunday, September 10, 2017. Sporting clay shooting is one of the fastest growing sports in the United States, and the NSCA South Central Regional is one of the largest sporting clay events in the world, expecting to draw over 500 competitors and more than 1,000 visitors from across the nation. The 2017 Championship marks the first time an NSCA regional tournament will be held in Mississippi.

“Often recognized for our outdoor sporting life and recreational activities, Mississippi is proud to continue this heritage,” said Governor Bryant. “We know you will find Providence Hill Farm and Mississippi hard to leave once you experience all that we have to offer.”

During the 5-day event, participants will compete in eight shooting events against other skilled competitors. Several World Champion sporting clay shooters will be competing, including Gebben Miles, Michelle Miles, Bill McGuire, and Wendell Cherry. As the participants compete, attendees may visit vendors, including London-based gunmaker William & Son, gunmaker Beretta USA, and an American ammunition staple, Winchester Ammunition.

“For over 150 years, Winchester has had a rich legacy in the hunting and the shooting sports. Working with key organizations and events is an important part of continuing that legacy.” said Matt Campbell, Winchester vice president of sales and marketing. “We are proud to support the 2017 NSCA South Central Regional at Providence Hill Farm Sporting Club and wish all participants the best of luck.”

Spectators are welcome to watch the action at the Snooker Range free of charge, with golf cart rentals available to tour the property. The public may also register and shoot the official practice course for a small fee.

“We’re incredibly excited to open our gates to sporting clay enthusiasts and their families,” said Jamie Planck Martin, owner of Providence Hill Farm Sporting Club. “We hope to offer the most exceptional sporting experience of any location in the country.”
